Our favorite chicken (EE) died yesterday, but today - Good News ! Our Buff Orp had our first egg!

Got our first egg from our RIR, she is about 20 weeks old. It's the egg on the right, kinda small but it's her first egg.

Here is the first egg from our light brahma (21wks). My daughter found it and was SO excited! I kind of hope they get bigger.

AT LAST!

The last 'holdout' of my 6 month or more pullets, the bantam Blue Ameraucana FINALLY gifted me with a blue egg!

Of course, she waited until I was gone from home for the long weekend, and without on-line capability, so I got the news by phone Friday night and had to wait until I got to Little Rock this afternoon to see the picture DD sent me! She laid it in the nest bucket I finally put in the run as all the girls were laying out there. The bottle cap is off of an Arizona tea bottle for size refference. When I get home I will take a picture of eggs/my egg basket from all of my 'big gitls' [bantam pullets all]

First egg today from one of my 17 week old RIR's. Very tiny, but it's an egg!!! The one on the right is a store bought egg.

We just got our hens, and they laid the first egg on Wednesday! They are apx 4 months and I have no idea who laid it!

We got our first egg in August of this year. We were so thrilled, you would have thought I found the gold at the end of the rainbow.

This came from our Red and White Sexlink Lucy!

I don't have pics of it, I was too shocked I guess. Yesterday we went to a sale and bought 11 Black Sexlinks. We had to put them in two seperate dog carriers to get them home, a one hour drive. When we got home there was not one but three eggs in there with our 11 chickens! Amazing to me!

Becky's egg at the top. Alice the easter egger's first egg bottom left, very olive green. Her fifth one bottom right. Each day they have gotten progressively lighter and bluer.
