We are lucky and have a friend that gave us 4 hens from her flock. They were 4 for 4 on their first day with us.

I'm EGGSITED!!! This is my first egg from my first pair of hens. They are 5 months old and I've raised them from new chicks. They are Rhode Island Reds.

I'm so happy!!! YYYEEEAAAA

This is them from a few weeks ago when they hopped up onto a chair next to me in the yard and relaxed with me.

These are my lazy girls! *GRIN*

Got our first egg today...I think unless my husband put one in there to encourage them LOL...So excieted..Now watching one of the hens spend the day in the nesting box..is this normal?

I got my first egg today!!! I'm so excited. I will have to measure it later, but it is really quite big. I was surprised at how big and perfect it is. I am thrilled!!! I am still so excited I can't stop smiling about it.
