Thanks cajunlizz...The EE's are 21 weeks and the Golden Comets are 20 weeks. The GC's started laying a week or so ago.

My first four eggs, laid over the course of the past three days... I think that three are from one hen, and one is from another... not sure who is laying what, though. Just know that they didn't come from my leghorn!

Looks pinkish purple, but it was still hot, I watched her lay this one, after I washed it - Its really more of a brown color - More evenly colored then the first 2 I found.

I am guessing those were hers as well and it just took me a few days to find. She had them buried and compacted down in the bedding.

Yeah! We've got our first egg. It was from a 19 week-old BR named Henrietta.
My son ate it for breakfast and his exact words were "dood egg from chicken hieney!"

The hens are now 24 weeks old, so almost every day a new one starts laying. The Speckled Sussex started it all at 20 weeks, then our Buff Orp. at 22, now one EE at 24 weeks. (The Silkie egg is from our year old hen.)

This is fun! I love seeing everyone's pics and having someone to share my excitement. My DH couldn't understand why I was so excited over an egg.
