x2 It takes about 25-26 hours to make an egg, I bet one of you other girls is laying too! Congrats on the first eggs!

I thought Welsummers lay dark brown, almost chocolate color, eggs.

I think you are correct, Though I believe it is actual terra cotta!

They do lay dark eggs..

The dark speckled one is from my Welsummer. Sometimes her eggs are darker and sometimes lighter. I am thinking this is due to the weather lately.

Our EE, April, layed her first egg yesterday! She's a couple days shy of 22 weeks.


We were so excited to see the gorgeous green egg!

Our first two eggs from our red sex-link. The first was laid yesterday and the second today. The second one is noticeably bigger than the first.

Hi! So excited!! Been waiting for my Welsummers to start laying all summer..... so drum-roll please.......



I believe they're both from the same hen as her wattle & comb were kinda looking anemic this afternoon. But the forefront is the egg from today, and 1st one with the larger speckles are from yesterday.... love those bigger speckles!!
