Post Your Game Cam Pics Here!!!

Very scary, I'm sure he'll be back she has three chickens left. Their going to have to do something to run him off or shoot him. They don't really want a three to four hundred pound dead bear in their yard. And they prefer not to kill it if possible. I told them to put a couple electric wires around the coop and run. Not sure what their going to do.
My sister lives just down the road and a bears been visiting them too, getting in the garbage.
Not sure if it's the same one.

Oh no, just great. I'm pretty sure my dog scared some skunks, he dug under one of our sheds, and chased around some skunks last morning. (He didn't get sprayed by the skunks but it sure smelled like skunk next to the shed, our neighbors supposed they are rabid, going out to search for some good eating's at 4:00pm)

Now that the skunks are gone, the bobcat is back.

I thought that crazy cat lady killed the bobcat for sure... I never saw the bobcat in April, but in March, I was handling my rabbit so when I show her she wouldn't attack the judge, when I heard 2 (what sounded like a shotgun) shots. It sounded pretty near.

We live in a close town, with, what I call them feral children, running around. So it's very risky, because the bobcat comes into our yard, but we can't shoot it, because people are walking by, or kids are out playing behind our fence. Then when the kids are going back inside, the bobcat leaves.

It stalks our chickens through the cage, it jumped up and down to look up at the ones in the high cages, it ran back and forth chasing the chickens along the front of the run, it killed two of my hens. But thankfully my dog who hates cats, chased after the critter and I saw her grab its leg. It jumped over the 6 foot fence though, and gave my dog death glare (AKA Stink eye)

I like to play with my dog in the field, and she runs around, I train her and all. She looked pretty tired, and started eating grass. I walked over to get her water bucket. When I came back toward her, the bobcat was about 8-10 feet behind her stalking her. Yes, stalking my Aussie dog. She didn't even notice..

So then, I chased the bobcat and threw the water at it. My dad came later that evening and said he saw a different bobcat down the road... with a dead white housecat in its mouth.

Time to do the SSS.

That doesn't sound like normal bobcat behavior to me. I would definitely consider rabies in this bobcat. You need to shoot it. If it's coming in that close and there are kids around and it has rabies there could be real problems. I would not hesitate to shoot that cat. If you can't shoot it when it is in at close range for fear of hititng a child then find someone who can, or perhaps notifiy your local wildlife conservation officer. That just doesn't sound normal at all.

I supported that idea, but my mom was against it. They shot a raccoon once, it was injured, and ran into the bushes because of it's injury. The only way we found it was by the stink...

The only way to kill it around here would be to trap it, and then put it to death.

I thought that also! I ran outside because of chicken drama, I went around the corner of the shed, and 2 feet away from me was the bobcat staring at me with my chickens head in its mouth. I chased it, It came back to the chicken, then I chased it again, and in jumped over a 6 foot horse fence, and in between a 2 strips of barbed wire. It the stopped at looked at me, then walked off down the driveway.

I am worried also that someone re-habbed it when it was a baby, and it thinks humans will give him/her food. If you go on youtube, there's too many cases of people keeping pet bobcats, then releasing them.

My dad is always gone from our house to shoot the thing, and there's the toddlers next door playing outside.

Then trap it. I have had bobcats around pretty much all of my life and I have never heard of one behaving like you describe. I've had them come right into the yard looking for a meal, or make a den for babies in an old barn, but for it sounds to me like that bobcat (possibly with rabies) would be a bigger threat to your ferel kids than someone trying to shoot the bobcat. I guess I don't understand because I grew up hunting, taught all my kids to shoot and hunt and teach hunter education. If you can't make the shot safely you don't take the shot. At close range like you describe one shot should do the job. Anyway, in your situation, trapping might be the best option. Just be sure you keep an eye on the trap since your ferel kids may try to come mess with it once it is trapped.

Or, it might be wise to contact an experienced trapper or the conservation officer. They might have better tricks to catch it quicker. Not sure about your area, but I do think about it because we have had an outbreak of rabies here in Kansas recently, and that's not something I would want to mess with.

Couldnt resist the chance to use photoshop

Pretty convincing but there isn't a rat there =) we have 6 pictures taken that night [within an hour] and the object in question doesn't move the entire time. We determined the the black things that look like legs are zip ties, and the body is actually a watermelon rind that was left in there. My chooks love watermelon and we sometimes cut up an entire one and leave the halfs in there for them to eat. If you look closely there are a couple more scattered nearby.
