Yeah, and I think they rub their hardened antlers, not their faces 8\I don't think they start rubbing until fall, when the velvet starts to shed. All other deer on the camera seem normal. First time I've seen such a thing.

WHOA!! Much more interesting than cats and deerHa, finally! My first encounter with a bear was in person, but it was a youngster, thankfully, and in broad daylight, almost the identical location, too. Maybe it's the same bear, just more grown up? Glad I did not make a late night trek to the barn as we do sometimes! This gate is in our perimeter fence that divides our main property from our pasture lot and is located pretty much right behind the chicken barn.
