Like, don't you have to be a certain length away from a house to shoot a Gun? 'Cause I imagine you didn't shoot it with a BB Gun
Generally speaking you can discharge a firearm less than 500 feet from a dwelling, farm building or occupied structure if you own, lease, are an immediate family member, an employee or have the owners consent in NYS. Public buildings and those you don't own is another matter you must be further than 500 feet unless you are hunting waterfowl and shoot in a direction that is greater than 500 feet from the dwelling. Shooting across a road or highway is also prohibited and, unless you're handicap, you must be off the right-of-way.
This raccoon got in my coyote trap last night, and after about 2 hours he slipped out. The door doesn't secure very tightly - something I intend to fix, but honestly the trap IS designed for larger animals that couldn't slip out such a small opening. I set my raccoon-sized traps tonight.
The camera normally takes better pictures. They are very washed out because I have it hanging at the back of the coyote trap - so the animals are too close to the flash plus it bounces around on the shiny trap sides, BUT it still allows me to see what comes into the trap, thinks about coming in, trips it without getting caught, or, in this case ESCAPES.
