Post your import breed wishes here....

Dilly--

It sounds like you've done some research on the subject or have imported eggs yourself. I have spoken with Bama on the subject. We would love to know what your research has turned up.

So far this isn't the least bit complicated...we're just in the talking stage. It may not break YOUR bank, but it may for some. If you're not interested...not a problem!

IT is as simple as contacting breeders and finding ones that are able to ship. The costs usually run a couple hundred dollars.

Since you are talking to Julie (Bama) why don't you get her breeders information and deal with them?
It is already established that they can legally ship.

The questions on this thread I am sure are very much appreciated. They are very valid.

Oldtimegator has not promised anyone imported eggs, chicks from such eggs, nor future eggs. The question was posed as to what people are interested if it were possible to get eggs.

This thread is NOT intended as a barter or sales gathering thread.

As the title implies it was a "Post your import breed wishes here" out of curiosity thread.

I caution everyone here not to get your hopes up for something that is simply a query as to what might be possible.

LOL I have been thinking about doing something like this myself... but it is a logistics issue with me and the airports. Are those really the only two??? I do have a pilot brother-in-law... but I doubt I could convince him to fly to either airport for some eggs....LOL

I know we are just surveying for interest in the idea. But it's still exciting

If we didn't like to daydream and fantasize, many of us wouldn't have chickens to begin with. I can't tell you how long I thought about it & read about them before actually getting them. Years, at least. So this is a fun idea.

And even if it isn't collaborative effort, I'll bet a lot of us end up getting some, eventually, just from what we learn about the process. If only I could talk my globe-hopping brother into bringing me some eggs from Europe from legit dealers. <sigh> But he's far too level-headed for that!

SERIOUSLY. I have been begging for chickens for 8 years--my entire marriage. My husband was just always against it, but now HE is the one carrying a camp chair out to the yard and sitting and watching hens peck for hours!

I would love to some day hatch some Cream Legbars. Someone else mentioned them on here as well; would be great to have someone hatch some, then breed them & make hatching eggs available in the U.S.
