Thundrr, we have eaten a variety of breeds and ages. So far they have been between 16-20 weeks old, RSLs, RIRs and BRs all cockerels. Basically extras that we got from TSC this past Spring. We kept the females and are almost done eating the rest. We have also spent the year hatching a fair portion of the eggs supplied by our RSL flock and with those we eat between 14-16 weeks. If we let those go longer, their meat value declines, in our opinion. We hatch a half dozen to a dozen each month so that we always have a continuous supply of birds; we prefer the meat to never freeze. Anyway, I am rambling.
