Alright, I'll do some research and post what I find then. It would be nice to hear from someone on here with experience though.

Here is how i would do to ducks! I dont know about chickens though. It might be the same thing.

You want to vent sex under good lighting. Hold the duckling upside down with its head pointed toward you and double its tail back with an index finger. With the legs out of the way, position your thumbs on opposite edges of the vent and place free index finger behind the vent. Simultaneously apply pressure down and out with thumbs and index finger to inver the cloaca.If it's a male a small, corkscrew shapen penis will be in the center of the cloaca. Look carefully because only the tip may show. In young ducklings it can be almost transparent. It is much more visible at two to three weeks. If its a hen, there should be no penis when the cloaca is inverted. I was told how in a pm. This can be a good way though! Try and see if you are succesful!
