Well everything has been changed. I cancelled my order to Mcmurray's and ordered locally. I will drive up to get my chicks on the 10th. It will be a 6 hour round trip but without the 3 or 4 day shipping to worry about in this weather. I am now getting 2 Ameracanas, 2 silver laced wyandottes, 2 RI Reds, 2 Buff orpingtons, 2 black austrolorps, 2 light brown leghorns and 1 one Light brown leghorn. I hope I bought the right rooster, he was so beautiful. I have the brooder ready and hope all goes well. I will post some pics. I couldnt get my picture to post so i hope i can post some pics of the new chicks.

can't take credit totally tho, someone else here had used a pool or pools....not sure.

should just have a smaller wattage bulb and set it on top of the wire frame top....but they use the outside top of the pool as much as the inside, it makes a great play area....and they will sit under the light.

i lower the light by the tripod. just turn the handle...

I have 19- 3 week olds in the house, everyweek I have to up the size of the box so today we graduated to a watermelon bin from walmart! The smell really isn't that bad as I keep there box very clean, hard to believe they started out in a little diaper box just 3 short weeks ago! I started out with pine shavings covered with layers papertowels and by the time there all used up they are able to get around on the shavings at about 3 to 4 days. Sandy
