I occasionally have a group that is extra friendly. I had hens that flew to my shoulder (poop in the hair!). When a rooster was chasing them, I’d occasionally have a few jump onto my back while I was bent over feeding. Once the rooster just jumped up, and mated on my back.

She loves to cook and has been helping in the kitchen since she was about three. This week she got her very first real chef knife. A pink one. She also helps when we process chickens or a pig.

That’s my Maddy. She had a rough start in life but nothing can keep her down. Soon after she was born she was diagnosed with craniosynostosis and at six months old had her first surgery. Then another at five years old. She is smart as a whip and one of the bravest people I know.
