Potentially sick bird - poop photos

Yes. I have liquid too, but have read that people think the powder works better?
Your bird is extremely sick. There is no doubt by the look of her poop that she is not eating.
If she does not get nutrition soon she will die.

I don't say this to be ugly or harsh I'm just stating If the bird doesn't eat she's going to die. You can tube feed her to get nutrition in until you get into the vet on Monday to keep her alive. There are people here that will teach you how to two feet if you want to go that route.

Did you recently bring any new to you birds home that could have brought an illness into your flight?

Yes, I understand -- that is also my concern.

I don't know anything about tube feeding but have seen some posts on here while searching around.

No new birds, no new changes to anything. My other hens all seem fine.

It's probably unlikely that you're dealing with coccidiosis.
What exactly do you feed your birds on a daily basis?
How old are they?

Would you like to learn how to feed?
You basically need some type of tubing... People have been known to use fish tank tubing. And a syringe to force the feed into the tube down into the crop.

This one is almost 7 months old. My others are just under 2 years old. Rachel had been eating Kalmbach 18% Medicated Chick Crumbles. She hasn't started laying yet but she seems more interested in eating the older chickens' food. They eat Kalmbach 17% Layer Feed, unless I've got anyone molting -- then I use a higher protein pellet.

I have been calling around to a couple other vets that I know see poultry and I managed to snag an appointment tomorrow at 11:00 with one, which is great that I won't have to wait until Monday.

Took my pullet to the vet this morning. Sorry, brain dead after a long day of work so I’m not going to remember correct terminology. It’s been a long day!

New fecal came back negative. Did an X-ray which showed quite a bit of grit in her crop and the other two… areas that come after the crop (blanking on those names). Dr wondered if she’s eating too much grit? And it’s taking longer to work through her system. Also wonders if she could have a congenital issue, especially considering her other three hatch mates all died. Long story short, was given two different medications to give her twice a day — one for pain and one for stomach discomfort/nausea I think?

The hope is the meds help her get her appetite back and she recovers from the mysterious issue. But, if she’s still under the weather by Monday morning, the vet wants to do a barium X-ray. I believe to determine if the issue is digestive or reproductive related. So no real answers at this point. Just gotta keep making sure she’s getting a little food and water, and administering meds… hoping for the best.
