Poultry Breeds of Spanish Ancestry

With fall coming up, perhaps you could get some birds shipped to you? I know that's really expensive... maybe meet up at a show? 700 miles to CA? Can I ask where you live?

It might be possible to arrange transportation for some birds from shows. I know that a lot of people come to the PPBA show in Stockton CA in January from a large part of western USA. If you were to start now, perhaps something could be set up for cooler weather.

I realize they are a risk to use without more knowledge of their lineage. My thoughts at this time are to play around and see what I get, yet keep my purebreds separate. There are no Empordanesa breeders anywhere near me, that I know of. It appears to be the same for the Crele's too. I think it is a 700 mile drive to the nearest breeders (California) that have these two types. Shipped eggs seem to be a big risk but may be my best bet.

I am disappointed that the white one was included and that it was one of my two roosters that I ordered. I really would like to add another Partridge rooster for half of my PP hens. That would make 3.5 hens apiece instead of 7 for one. It would also be a good upgrade for my flock. New males make for a faster improvement in stock than a few new hens do.

Jason? Ron?

There is noting wrong with playing around to see what you get. Just do it on the side, and have fun. It is not impossible. It is always a challenge (and money) to change something into something else.

I don't ship birds unfortunately. I am probably along with Ron your closest breeder. I can try and save enough eggs to ship you but am down to just a few laying crele with youngsters coming up.
here on another note are some young ones
black Penedesenca
White Empordanesa
Crele Olive Egger ( Crele Penedesenca x silver ameraucana )

and some young crele

You are up in Washington?

We may be able to get something figured out later. I do go to Redding sometimes and will be heading through Anderson on Friday on the way to Shingle Town.

Partridge Penedesencas and Pita Pintas.

The Pene pullets are 4 to 5 months old. The Pita Pinta cockerels are 2 to 3 months old.
