lol - me either. I am hoping I can order no more than 30.

... and 30 is more than I need.

I've gotta admit, though, I haven't seen anyone from QC giving advice like Neil has here on BYC. Sometimes it's good to "trade at home".

@ Ed,

I totally agree with you regarding the advice and plethora of information Neil gives. I just hope I can order less than 50.

I only need 30 but I can handle getting 50 or less. ::: fingers crossed :::

I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to order. I want the easiest thing to use, just to fix up some buckets. I won't be using pvc. The red ones look like they are simpler to install - can anyone give advice?

@ Kim

I am not expert but from what I can tell the red ones looks simple to install (as you stated). We are going to use buckets and install the red poultry nippels (about 5) at the bottom of a few 5 gallon buckets. It seems to me (from what I have read) that you just need to drill the appropriate hole size and screen in the nipple. I suppose to insure no leaking you can use some sort of caulk, silicone or a thread cement (I think it's blue for PVC).

Don't quote me... lol
We are still learning too. I'm excited to get mine in the mail and see how they work.

I would think the push-in with bushing/grommet would be the best for using with buckets and other containers....the screw-in type should be better for thicker walled items such as schedule 40 pvc pipe, though I would imagine the grommet-type would do just as well there, too.

With either one of them try not to *over drill* your hole and end up making it too large or oblonged.

Best wishes,
Ed

Ed,

Great advice. I will definitely take that and run with it.... sound advice and I am so going to try the push-ins in the smaller stuff.
It makes since being there isn't as much pressure or volume. I'll have to let you know how it all turns out. Thanks so much. Truly.

when you use PVC there are 2 different types, water line Sch 40 PVC is a solid core pipe where as the DWV( drain waste and vent) is a foam core. The foam core tends to not seal as easily as the solid when threading into it.oh yeah guess it helps to know i'm a plumber.
