[Just a Country Girl]

Had a good time at the swap today. Bought a trio of Silkie Seramas for myself and 2 pair of OEGB for Shay. Thank You nhnanna for the eggs. I'll deliver them tomorrow. I hatched my first Serama egg in the incubator last night

Oh my God, I thought the Silkie chicks were small, this thing is less then half the size. I have it in a small brooder with my smallest Silkie chick teaching it to eat and drink

I saw quite a few birds I would really like to have but I had to remind myself that I was not at my house and winter is coming sooner than we want it to. I did manage to get some of the clip on cups for cages while I was there so it was a good day. I was really surprised that there were that many people there. There were still no signs out telling the public where to go to get there. I thought they would atleast have one at the main gate or the side gate that was open.
I did ride by where the Candia swap is going to be next week and I wanted to let everyone know that there is a sign out front already about the swap next week so hopefully we will have another good swap there. I have signs up at the feed store and Mr. Mikes store in Deerfield.

It was a very busy place today.
I didn't go to sell today, just to drop of the eggs for Lisa's 4H friend and to look around. If I had known ahead of time that it was going to be that busy, I might have changed my mind and brought some chickens to sell. I just figured I would wait until Candia seeing I really didn't have the money for the set up fee.

Duh! Wish I had thought of that.

Come to think of it we went half with my daughter the last time they had the swap there.
They went apple picking today so I didn't even think to ask anyone else if they wanted to go halfs.

ya, $15 is a lot of money to take the chance of selling nothing, or not even making your money back.
