Poultry transportation crate

Hi all,
I am moving soon and was planning to get a plastic poultry transportation crate to make the trip easier. My question is, I know these crate are not very tall, I believe the one I'm looking at is only 28cms high. Do large heavy breeds fit in these? I understand that the chickens crouch in them and that is their desgin but a crouching production red or 8 week old cornish cross is not the size of a full grown heavy breed rooster! Does anyone have experience with large breeds in these crates?

I use a dog crate to put my chickens in. How many chickens are you moving? What age? Size? How long is the trip?

Those are mainly for taking birds to the processor.

Moving only about 20mins down the road so no biggie really. Usually just use cardboard boxes but only normally transport 1 or 2 at a time. I'm moving 11. A dog crate sounds like a good idea!
