~*~*PoultryLand IS BACK*~*~

While we're on this topic of buying things (lol ok maybe not...) wow, all the birds have disappeared off the market since I last checked! You guys must've been doing some serious collecting. :p The day I joined there were so many to choose from I couldn't even be bothered considering each one properly.

I haven't been doing much selling or buying that actually ends up in the coop. There were many more birds around a month or so back, but a lot of members bought them, then faded from PL. :/

It took me a couple of days to save the 500 or so SPs and I spent them all in less than 5 minutes. State of the world, if it were money we'd be supporting whatever this economy is but there's really no excuse for SPs. :lau "I'm one of the undeserving poor and I mean to go on being as such," so on and so forth straight out the window - it sure ain't that either - simply put, PL is turning me into a capitalist!!!! (And not a hedge fund one either, no such avenues for investment on the game. Ha ha ha! Got to do it the old fashioned way!)

I don't really have any breeding goals... I guess I like my birds to look nice, but I don't go out on a limb to find a perfect match, so to speak. I suppose stats are more important to me, but there's really no chance of me getting into anything else but all-rounders now with the state of things as they are. :p

State of things? It's not so bad. All-rounder's are the best anyway. You're on the .net site, right?

lol, I felt like unleashing a barrage of rhetoric. I was googling to try and find Doolittle's monologues from Pygmalion for a minute there...

I'm on .co.uk
I don't like the new layout, I prefer the old. :p

:lau Okay. Well, judging by a few of the people on the top earned show points list, if you keep at it, things will get easier. :caf

Then am I right in assuming you're CP7536? :p
Me too. Too bad there are so many problems with it.

Speaking of that list, I feel like I'm meant to be on there, several of my birds have more SPs than the total of #10. Oh well, it's not the official version anyway so let's just have some fun. :p

Oh man, you discovered my silly name that I absolutely refuse to explain :lau
Aber stimmt, das bin ich.

That's true. There are several features on the birds' profies I wouldn't mind having back, including but not limited to the stat total and the mother and father part. However, most of all I miss test breeding, I could wile away hours on that thing, lol...

Yeah. After checking a few of your bird's stats, those on the list will have to watch out.

 I don't see why you think it's silly, but okay. The name reminded me of you... but after getting used to seeing planes for bird names, I was totally confused for a while. o.o
*nods* If you say so. >.>

I don't remember the test breeding, but I totally agree on the stat total part. Much easier than bringing out the calculator so often. Wish the inbreeding would show on the Bird's page though. It's such a bummer to spend money on a bird, then find out.

Hey, yours are not so shabby either - great job on getting them all rounded at 65!

CP stands for something ridiculous. Was it the numbers? I've always been a fan of bestowing significance upon unfortunate sets of numbers which end up used in almost all facets of my life. :p

Planes belonged to the previous chapter of my life. I still like the odd chortle about runway 05 these days, but after deciding not to pursue aviation as a career path it kind of took a back seat.

Also, I completely agree with you about the inbreeding. It's a very valid point. I see that it's only possible to find out by looking at the mini-summary under the bird from someone's ranch. Having fast internet makes this slightly less of a chore.

Aww, that's a shame.
Well I just nabbed a nice rooster from MH, because my ranch was feeling a little like the reverse of the Liberal party front bench (oh man...)

However, I have just found out that my latest egg is a male, and it's 0% inbred, and it's even quite harmonious with the colours despite the vast difference in appearance of its parents, so big whoop!

Thanks. Took a few generations, but the outcome is pretty good, as the high-stat bird champions list last member is 397, and these birds are 390 - the closest a hybrid will ever get, although subsequent generations seem to be getting better and better, despite having the same stats. Now I need to find a way to get them between 50-64, so they can be used to top Chili without using many SP's.

Yes, it was the numbers... Well, not alone, but with letters, and the fact that there were four of them....Plus you posted on BYC at the same time she was online, so that all made it a bit obvious.

Ah, so then random Russian characters have taken the front seat now? :p

Indeed. I'm so grateful to whoever invented the feature of ctrl+F for searching things. :bow

Okay, that post was getting ridiculous, lol.

I've just been liberally spending my SPs - I figure there's no way I'm going to get my stats up without seriously increasing the inbreeding due to the low number of high-skill studs available anyway.

Ah yes, I was thinking I was beginning to look a bit suspicious because of that. :lau
Am I really that closely associated with sets of four numbers? This is very curious. :p (Although I was into them for a while on Howrse - they're all chemical formulae...)

Well, it fits with the whole theme I have going. Several of the characters are from a random comic/manga thing (it's really neither), in which long and unusual words are prolifically used, featured in paragraphs of very boring-looking social commentary.

Adam and Chili are good studs. Ty NancyJ was a good one too, but I'll make a few more high-stat males after finishing the breedings.

Yes, you were.
1_05 and 2_23 were three numbers, so I guess not. But it just seems that way.

 Sounds good. Unique names are always best for chickens.
