First time hatching duck eggs as a project with my son’s class. We have 4 eggs that progressed as expected, monitored via candling. They hit 28 days on Tuesday and I have had the incubator set to 98.5 as of day 26. We have 1 that was very obviously hatching and 2 more that had started a small spot of piping as of end of school day yesterday (day 30). Sometime overnight a transformer blew and they may have been without power for several hours but it was on and heated when the teacher got there around 7:30 am this morning. We’ve currently moved them to a teacher’s home until I can go later to retrieve them as school is now closed for the day.

They’re not seeing any movement this morning. Any chance they are alive? Should I temporarily turn the temp back up?

I'd leave then alone and wait since the heat is back on. Turning the heat back up would not hurt them as long as it doesn't get too hot but I do not think it is necessary. at that stage they are generating a lot of heat on their own, hopefully they will be OK.

Ok, I’m going to leave them be until I have them back in my possession later today. Hoping they were just taking a long nap and will be active again soon. The kids will be so devastated if none end up hatching
