Hi fellow BYCers, here in Southeast Texas we are having storms come in Saturday night, which is a large problem because I have some quail eggs in incubation, I think they may be at day 4 or 6, not for sure. They are Tuxedo Button Quail Eggs, and due to their size I have heard they react to changes in tempiture quite quickly..
I have never had this problem so I do not know what to do or how to keep them warm if the electricity does go out... I need help on what to do ASAP if it does go out.. last time it went out it was out for a good 24 hours...

That is tricky, we had our incubator loose power for 3 hrs but the eggs were okay

........those were also chicken eggs though, I don't know about quail eggs............You will have to absolutely keep it closed and warm but, i am not sure can't think of something to help, maybe someone else can help.

Thank you, luckily the power lines here are strong, so I am hoping for the best!

Last week my Incuview power supply blew out during day 9 of my quail incubation (Incubator Warehouse sent out a new power supply, arrived today). I had 41 quail eggs in my incubator. It was my first time incubating. I put in so much money, research and work into them that when I realized my incubator was busted, I panicked. I put my eggs under my brooder lamp to try to keep them at least warm, but some of them were cooked and others were cool. I ran to the store to buy their incubator which was a cheap piece of junk, but it was all I could use.

The Incuview can run off of a battery with this accessory, but I don't have it.

So, how did it go? Did you lose power? Hope all is well with your eggs....
I live in Maine and we are going to be entering storm season pretty soon. I decided to look into battery back up heaters, just in case. Here's a link to one I just purchased online. I'll be building a basic back up bator with this. Hopefully I won't have to use it, but....
I know Texas has some phenomenal storms, so maybe this can be useful to you or anyone else who read this!!!

We got VERY lucky, the transformer blew up on the street behind us, but somehow our power stayed up!
Thank you for the link!
