Our power just went out and our chicks are supose to hatch in a couple days. I didn’t open the incubator and wrapped it with a blanket hoping it would keep some heat.
I don’t know when the power will be back on, I hope it’s soon. Are the chicks ok? Or will they not make it?

At day 18 I expect them to be a bit hardier and fully developed. Outage at earlier stages can cause bent toes and such.

Call your power company and make sure they know about the outage and are working on it. They may even have an estimate of when it will return.

How is your current temp in the house? If you need to you can try heating water on a BBQ or outdoor propane burner and setting the hot bottles close to the bator... but I kinda expect them to be OK like they are for a few hours, probably.

My power went out when I wasn't home once and lasted like 8 hours on day 11 and my house rarely hits 60. Half still hatched and half of those had no issues.

Right now it’s semi warm in the house we have no a/c so it will get hot in a little bit so hopefully that helps
