I like 2:00.
I'm meeting Yahoo Calif Chickens group at raffle table at 12.
I'm going super early Saturday to be there by 8 for check-in; if my roo isn't rejected for broken feathers & spur, I'll be staying Sat nite (still have to find a room, if anyone wants to split one PM me).
I have Barnevelders I bought last fall laying, if anyone wants eggs PM me soon so I don't wash 'em for the house. Nominal price or will trade for Lav Orp or LF Salmon Fav eggs.
Anyone have a solo chick to sell?? I have a lonely Lavender Split orp chick (black) and would adopt or buy yours!

The roo in my avatar is for sale... I am showing him and did not buy a sale cage as I don't know how he'll do, and I already spent ~$35 on fees to be there. (could have been $7 but wanted to join PPBA and go to the banquet

)
And if I am VERY lucky, I will be ferrying mice to Jordan and keeping 1 pair.

Sounds good, Rob!

As for the mice, what's going on with that? LOL. Im not sure I'll be able to take any now, due to lack of money. My wallet got away from me and the money vanished.

I'll probably be there pretty early as well, depending on when my parents want to take me.

My first year of chickens, too. I JUST found out about the show TODAY (Jan 26) and now that I know Nifty/Rob and BYC will be there, I'm a'gonna definitely go! My very first poultry show to visit, welll,,, to anything.

If I can buy a Welsummer, Amereucana, Buckeye or goodness knows what other pullets will entice me, I will be VERY happy! **checking the checking account balance**

2 PM sounds good to me!

I'll be bringing along however many serama eggs I get between now and then. Might not be much because I only have one hen laying at the moment (the other is caring for chicks), but she's A-sized with a B-sized mate so her babies will probably be pretty! I know the eggs are fertile because I hatched some already. I would love to swap for some other eggs or just sell them cheaply depending on what happens! I mostly just want unusual colors of OEGB and bantam sumatras right now, so I'm a little picky (well, I say that, but when I see pretty birds I go a little crazy). My brother wants a new bantam cochin, though!

Boy, I didn't know the sales barn opened so early, but I really want to check out the birds and perhaps purchase one or two... Eeek, I'm not a morning person. I guess I'll try to plan on leaving early. 5 AM seems a little excessive, but I AM chicken-crazy so I might just do that. We'll see, I have to think about it--I might decide it's worth getting up super-early. What do the prices tend to be on the birds (a range is fine), how many are usually available, and what breeds are generally represented? I'm just trying to see if I really should make a big effort to be down there early or not...

Prices range anywhere from $10.00 and up. There are a wide variety of birds you never know what they are going to have. The sales barn opens at 7:00 but not everyone has there birds to sell there yet.

Greetings Peeps!

I spoke with an exhibitor/mentor from Angels Camp, and she said there are 2600 birds entered in the Stockton show. Wooohoo! Anyhoo, for those thinking of the sales pens, her advice to me, was it is crowded and chaotic, and peeps go at it in a snatch and grab fashion, with most birds being sold first thing in the morning, and not much left by Sunday. Also do not plan on leaving the birds in the sales area until you leave for the day, as many of the sellers restock their sales pens when the current occupant sells.

I am looking for:
SQ Americana roo, prefer Black, Blue or Splash.
SQ Black Australorp roo
SQ G-L Wyandottes.
French Standard Marans in Black or Splash
Red Bourbon Turkey Hens

I also would like to purchase a gently used incubator.

PM me if you have any of the above for sale.

If I can offload all the snow out of the backend, I am bringing my Dodge, loaded with cages.... hmm maybe I need to bring my horse trailer.... really don't want to go home empty handed!

Hope there are some BYC T-shirts for sale, it will be a way to identify us!

I'll have the following available:

• Various BYC Clothing (even limited edition stuff not in the store)
• Raising Chickens for Dummies books (may even be able to talk me into signing them)
• BYC 2010 Calendars (I found a few hidden ones)
• BYC Cookbooks
• Bumper Stickers / Magnets

I got a reply that all the vendor tables are full, but we may be able to still get a space. I need to call back tomorrow afternoon to find out for sure. Maybe I'll have to sell out of my car.

So it's looking like we won't be leaving Petaluma until around 8:30 if I'm lucky so looks like we might be sol for buying any birds on this trip out but at least we should be there in time to meet up. If anyone has any Welsummers or BCM pullets for sale I'd be interested. Looking for a couple dark egg layers to add to the flock. Of course I'd be interested in any incubators anyone is no longer using but it looks like I'm not the only one. Still anxious as heck to head out there and check it all out being as green as I am.

ETA: I would also be interested in BLRW or anything else that seems interesting. I'm pretty easy...
