Tell him he is free to PM me and I will try to help all I can.
Tell him there are no magic bullets but there are some very effective treatments but they will take time to work. Tell him to study all he can because he only has one patient to deal with while his doctor has hundreds. Tell him that not every GI is competent diagnosing CD or UC.

Go get him some baby food, the really pureed easy to digest stuff, and see if that helps. If he gets too far gone on his nutrition he will need to go to the hospital for intravenous feeding. The body can not repair itself without fuel.

Incompetent doctors about killed me. Thankfully I have found a fantastic doctor to help manage my disease.

I'm sorry to hear that they've not yet resolved Roger's situation. Poor guy!

While they're checking things, they might want to test him for Celiac Disease as well. Celiac Disease is an intolerance to the gluten found in wheat, rye, barley, and (some say) oats. It is treated by following a strict diet devoid of those items. We had a 1.5 year period where they thought that was the cause of my son's growth delay. While not easy, it was totally doable. I know how much Roger loves his cornbread and if it turns out to be celiac, tell him he can rest assured that I found a way to make it along with other goodies like pancakes, cookies, and fresh home baked bread.

Thanks to all of you. I know that his doctor had put him on meds. for Crohn's disease and he stated that he told his doctor, that if he doesn't have it, then he isn't taking the meds. for it. He said that he feels like a walking chemical plant with all the mess (meds.) that they have him taking.

I don't know if it is particular foods or just food in general. I know that he tried to eat a hamburger and it made him hurt and that he tried to eat grits and eggs and they made him hurt as well. From what I gather, it is just all food right now.

I will tell him to try the baby food and see if he can tolerate that. One other problem is that he has NO apetite at all. He said that he is just never hungry. I don't know if subconciously (spelling ?) that he knows that if he eats, then he is going to hurt or what.

Make him try the chamomile tea. You can find it at any grocery store, make sure to get the one with just the chamomile flowers, no other added flavorings. (warning: those with a very severe, dangerous allergy to ragweed should avoid chamomile as they are related plants. Odds of that being him is literally 1 in a 100 million)

Tell him to get back on his meds. A good many of the drugs used to treat Crohn's are also used to treat other inflammatory bowel diseases.

Most IBDs have an unknown cure, the meds treat the symptoms by attempting to reduce the inflammation. If the meds are not working than he needs to push them to change the meds.

Please ask him to list what meds they have him on.

Just a suggestion, but I've had a member of my family with same eating problems in the last six months. After eating, excruciating pain and food would not stay. Took doctors a long time to figure out, but ended up being a sluggish gallbladder. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint in diagnosing. Just pass that on, just in case in turns out not to be the other. They can do a dye scan on his gallbladder to rule it out...I'm in on prayers for him
