This something I have never done before
.a prayer request for an animal. However, Sadie needs your prayers and my wife has asked I post for your help and prayers. Yesterday as I left the house, Sadie ran out into the street to see us off. Normally she does not stay there, but returns to the yard. Yesterday she stayed in the street and was hit by the next car. Folks drive 70 MPH plus on this county road, with no regard for anything or anyone. They see children playing and could care less. This is the short cut to the University of Arkansas/Monticello and the schools, hospital etc.
Anyway, Sadies front leg was injured. No broken bones, but the skin was peeled back and her leg cut down to a tendon. There is the possibility the skin will not heal back. She is in a lot of pain, alone and scared. Sadly, she will have to remain at the vet clinic till at least Monday and perhaps longer. Sadie was one of a litter of 10. Only she survived and that was with 2:00 AM feedings by hand. She has learned well to be a livestock guardian dog at only 5 months old. But is still a pup and very much a part of our family. Must admit, even I missed her running out to meet us last night.
So please keep Sadie in your thoughts and prayers. We desire a speedy recovering and that she will not lose the use of her leg. At adulthood Sadie should reach 100+ pounds. She will need the use of all four legs to maintain a healthy life. Thanks for your concern and prayers.
ETA: Sadie weighed 47# yesterday. Not bad for a 5 month old puppy!
