Hate is bad. Terribly horribly bad, I speakfrom experience.
The parable is basically trying to get across the point that we need to love God more than our families. We should love our family, but if the occasion ever does happen where we'd have to give up our family or say, denounce our faith, He would want us to give up our family.

Yup

KJV is tough to understand, since it was translated directly from the original dialect (Greek) to "old" English, ya know? I grew up in a church that always uses KJV, so I can read it and understand it pretty easily, but I still need to order a different translation for my kindlle... Nkjv!

I thought that was from ESV? maybe not, idk. But yeah, sometimes KJV is hard to read, its what my physical one is, but i like reading it haha the Bible app I have (which i need to use lol) has tons of translations available
