Hi, Penpal, are you new to Prayer Warriors? Welcome! We are happy to have you, please be at home here!I did not do Santa either. This makes me a terrible mother. On the other hand, I never had to explain why Santa didn't bring this toy or that pony. Important when you are living below the poverty level and can't afford a Christmas tree.
Don't apologize for skipping Santa.
Interesting. This morning our pastor was preaching on Luke 2. I can't recall how he said it, but pointed out that Jesus was swaddled as a newborn baby, and wrapped in a shroud after He died.
Made me think.
How do you fail him daily? My prayer is that I go to the Father with the same fervor when I'm in need as I would when things are going well, He deserves top priority, but I fail Him daily. Knowing He never leaves me is so encouraging.
I'll answer this one. First, read Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7. Keeping the 10 Commandments is easy if you only consider the letter of the law. Yeah, I didn't murder anyone today so I'm good. Didn't sleep with anyone else's husband. Didn't steal anything. Oh, really? But Jesus points out that keeping the law is so much more than that. Was I angry with anyone in my heart; did I gossip against anyone, did I lust in my heart or think impure thoughts? Did I pass up an opportunity to do good for someone in need? Did I speak harshly to someone? Did I hurt someone's feelings? Did I fail to do my best, to give an honest day's work for a day's pay (stealing)? In all these ways I fail to be the person God wants me to be. I can't be perfect, that's why I'm so glad Jesus lived a perfect life for me. He never sinned, in thought or deed. That's why death could not hold Him. And He gives me His perfect life in exchange for my broken one, and His eternal life for my mortal life. It's the best deal in yhe universe! Have you asked Him to make this exchange for you? If not, do it now!How do you fail him daily?
This is not a trick question, but rather an honest open desire to know.
What if someone is able to not "sin" in any of these in a days time?I'll answer this one. First, read Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7. Can anyone be completely selfless for an entire day? Even an entire hour? Read also 1 Corinthians 13. If they can, they are a better person than me! Scripture tells us we can't. And even if we could, it could not make up for our past sins, which keep us out of heaven. What if someone is able to not "sin" in any of these in a days time?
