My husband was kicked in the face this afternoon while working a horse sale in Shartlesville, PA. He has four fractures to the cheek bone and brow. His nasal passage is shattered. We are in a crunch since his injury has left him unable to work - per strict doctors orders to not be around any horses for the next four weeks.

I am making a run to PA from KY in the morning to get our house packed up and moved to storage. Dh will be staying with my sister until the specialist make a determination of surgery or not.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Geez... So sorry to hear this!! Hope everything goes okay!!

Me too - he sounded pretty bad when I talked to him - could definitely tell his face was swollen. He says it hurts to move his eye and that he looks like he was in a bad fight (I'd bet!). But he said they did a full cat scan and found no other damage. They er dr is worried about the nasal passage collapsing since the cartilage is shattered so severely they can't even count the pieces. So he has to meet with a specialist.

I have to get to bed so I can make the drive tomorrow, thanks in advance BYCers for your wishes, I won't be able to check in til late tomorrow.

Awww sweetie I feel for him, been there done that literally with the metal plates and wires and screws and new sinuses to prove it. His will not look like his own for awhile and depending on the damage he may never look the same again, I don't. If I can help you at all, let me know. My face was stepped on by a horse that went down with me and used my face (on concrete) to get back up. Just don't gasp and say OMG when you see him, it's a psychological killer, my dad fainted when he saw me.

Oh my goodness... how painful that sounds.

writer...wow, very humbling words of wisdom. Seems you've come over that obstacle... all be it a hard one... but you got over it none the less.

I hope and pray that God gives you and your family what you need and the strength and courage to get through this time that lies ahead of you...in Jesus' name we pray for good. Amen.

most humbly,
gretchen
