My isolation crate has been taken over by a meatie broody. I can't really isolate Thor in his own coop, without closing off the door the girls use to go in and out to lay eggs. Gonna brainstorm on some way to isolate him.

peepacheep Thanks for the tip. I know we have some epsom salts around here someplace. Thor and I might get cozy tonight.

CATRAY44 Thank you for the link. I'll definitely check into it. I don't think he's getting too much cat food, since I don't offer it to him except when I bring him in the house for some reason. He lets the girls have it all when I offer it outside, which isn't all that often. Of course I can't control how much protein from other sources he finds when out free ranging.

Have a box? Maybe try that with the rack from your oven covering the top so he can't get out and then use said rack to cook Christmas dinner for your in-laws...oh never mind, that's what I would do.

Sorry, Kat, just had to throw that in(I'm really not that mean).
It really would work in a pinch. You don't want him moving TOO much, but you also don't want atrophy from lack of movement.
A giant bird like that can do himself a leg injury just jumping off the perch.

Get better soon, Thor!

It may happen! Wanna come for Christmas dinner-you'll have stories to share when you get back home about how the people in Texas have this strange tradition of...well, you know the rest.

I was thinking of asking you if you wanted to *poof* disappear on Christmas morning and come spend it with me. Keith will be working, so just me and the critters. We'll have ribeyes. You, me and the dogs.
