Prayers & Good Thoughts for my younger flock *UPDATE, the eggs*

It's 3:20 AM CST. The last three of my babies are safe and sound in the coop.

The two younger ones were caught with a dipnet.

Sally required two adults, 2 maglites to temporarily blind her with, a bunch of noisemaking (to scare her out), a large fishing net duct-taped to a broom handle, and a whole bunch of running around and slipping in the mud on our part. Fast little booger, that one.

In the end, she walked into the coop like she meant to do that anyhow.

My babies are safe! Stuff can be replaced. I can go to bed now.

Probably. Mine head for any kind of bedding, anywhere. They may be too upset to lay today though.

Yeah, I figured as much; but I wanted them to have the option anyhow. We'll have nestboxes for them by this afternoon. With all the commotion it's a wonder my roos didn't drop a few eggs.

Thanks Ranchy

I have some cow mojo sitting right here. It comes in a box, says "Remington .410, 2 1/2" length, 1/2 oz. birdshot"

It'll do till the farm store opens.

Kat, I'm so sorry you are having to deal with all of the destruction these cows are doing to your property!

It's not funny anymore!
I'm glad you were able to round up your birds.

So sorry!

Right now there's a lot of hay all over the floor of my coop (rather than pine shavings) and I'm finding some of the eggs eggs in a wallowed out spot in the hay many days. Makes a great bed for the younger chicks who still want to huddle rather than roost, too.
