We are moving soon and will be moving our seven urban hens with us. I would like to order a pre-fabricated coop with run that does not need a six week lead time. Who has the best, high-quality pre-fab coops? We just don't have time to build one. I would love a coop that stands up to a Minnesota winter. Thank you

Quality prefabs are hard to come by at a reasonable price, and the lower cost models only fit 2 or 3 chickens. What's your budget, and how much free time do you have to put it together?

I recommend using a dog kennel (what I use for my chickens).

This is one from Home Depot is good and only needs a few modifications: hardware cloth around the bottom and bird netting over the top, and then you can make a roosting area and laying area pretty cheaply with some plywood and 2x4s

It shipped in 5 business days, which is reasonable. It's a pretty hardy kennel, too

No offense in

No offense intended, but OP says she has 7 chickens. That kennel only has enough room for 6.

If you go by 8 sqft in the run instead of 10 sqft, it's plenty of space. It also depends on the birds temperaments, whether OP is going to freerange, etc. There are other people on here with more experience than I have who say that 10 sqft isn't a hard and fast rule. Also it was simply a suggestion, and OP is free to take it or leave it.

Like I said, wasn’t trying to call you out or anything. I’ve just always heard 10. If people can make it with less more power to them.
