Your place sounds amazing. Well, the description anyhow.
I'm sure your chickens will love it there.
As for your wife, surprising things happen with chickens, they grew on my father over the years although he didn't like them at all first off, now he talks to them when he's down in the garden tending his vegetables.

And yeah, don't worry about the long Where am I, where are you threads. I joined the Australia one when it was about 100 pages long, it's no biggie, they'll make you feel welcome.
