Predator proofing nesting box hatch?

A thought occurred to me, my nest box hatch just opens with a slight push, and it’s not so far off the ground to think a raccoon couldn’t get in there easy peasy. What are some ways to predator proof a lift-able hatch only a couple feet off the ground?
I currently have a brick on the top 😂 I figured if it’s hard for me to move, it will be hard for a critter?
It’s the big girls’ 2nd night alone in the coop! (Chicken cam is on the way 🤣)

I've had coons aplenty, and some years take a bird, or two, (always in daylight in the yard), but while my nesting box is more off the ground (raccoons can climb easily), I've never, ever, had them lift the nest box hatch.

Is it so close to the ground the coon could stand on its hind legs and lift? Remember he'd have to HOLD it and then climb in against the force of the lid coming down on him. That would be quite the feat.

I think the brick would be enough deterrent.

My 2 cents.
