Preen Gland - Infected or Normal?

Always noticed this chicken had a lack of feathers on her back. My rooster died over the summer last year so no possible irritation that way... today I noticed her gland was very red - is this normal or is it infected? (Sorry pictures aren’t the best)

If it’s infection, what’s the treatment?

Ok thanks! I put some DE on them and the coop just in case of mites but didn’t visualize any last night. I will definitely try neosporin!

How's your chicken doing? What helped?
Mine has the same problem and I don't know what to do. I created a post but no one answered.
