We like the basic cornish cross. Raised properly, they have very few issues and produce fantastic meat in very little time.
 
While a Cornish X is impossible to compete with for feed conversion and time, I'll take my duels everytime. We do it for taste and there IS a big differance there too.
 
I voted other. Simply because other is usually what I have. White Rocks, Easter Eggers, Dark Cornish, and mixed breeds.


All taste the same to me.
 
I've been curious about marans for dual purpose. Love those dark eggs and considering picking them up for a homesteading dp flock because of them.
 
Jersey Giant......Roasting a nice 8 - 12 lb ( depending on age ) bird is fantastic.

Their original intent after all, to be the poor mans Turkey...........
