Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

Here is Bobbles today. Still barely growing... doing well despite though but today he does seem to have a clogged nostril. I tried to let him swim but he refused to dunk his head... still no feathers coming in that I can see. He is three weeks old today. Eats like a champ, drinks well, and runs around wrecking havoc.... Definitely a tiny thing. I can tell he’s smaller than my Phoenix, but older than Phoenix. I bet it’s a girl. :love

Yep he’s just a tiny bit bigger than the 3 day old! Here he was when it hatched 3 days ago! I’m hoping Bobbles will be a girl. I don’t know why but I’ve just been calling it he:gig

here they are when the little one was only 2-3 hrs old!

i call my turkey a he but we think its a she... :lau also adorable!

Here’s some size difference for ya! :lau
I didn’t leave them together. Phoenix bit the little ones toes, so I snatched him out. The little new one (my grandson said to name him T-Rex lol) isn’t opening his eyes really well yet. I wiped them with a wet cotton ball, I think by tomorrow he’ll be strong enough to rinse his head better. Some of the membrane was stuck, but i don’t want to stress him too much yet.

Wow, that sure is a size difference! Phoenix looks like a giant! :gig
Such cuties! 🥰

aww T-Rex is a cute name!

A little video of Phoenix. 15 days old. Growing like a little weed. I hope he’s not too big to accept the new duckling.
Oh my goodness! Phoenix is adorable! This one is possibly an actual sibling to one or two of mine, right? I noticed last night that both of my grays feet and I believe bills are lightening up. Is this normal? They both had dark feet (and legs) at hatch but it seems to be fading by the day. Also, I've got to get an updated picture of Faith for you. She looks even more like your khaki! It's crazy! She's still a little bitty cutie compared to her hatchmates but she's certainly growing up. She's started doing the adorable underwater dives like Lylah. I need to get a video of them bathing but I always feel so bad seeing them paddling so fiercely and like to let them rest on my hands. When does this constant paddling stop? If it's not deep enough, they don't seem to enjoy it or dive down and play around. Maybe I need something to put in the tub that they can easily climb on to rest.
I feel like I should note that they aren't left unattended during this bath and it doesn't last very long.

Bobbles is adorable! Definitely is a tiny little cutie pie (rather a cutie slice because he's nowhere near big enough to be an entire cutie pie)

I’m always doing that... I have one call duckling named Beans that I keep calling a girl but he’s a boy...

Thanks!
Same here! We always give feminine names and I believe it's just wishful thinking on our part. We have a Buff Duck that we named Tom and she really surprised us whenever we figured out she was a girl. If we give a gender specific name and end up being wrong, we usually change it slightly, but didn't on that occasion. She doesn't care as long as I don't call her late for minnows :lau
