Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

I hope your Aztec hatch is continuing to go well. Little diva is a heartbreaker in the making! :p I love hearing about your Aztec hatch! There is no such thing as an Aztec overload! Post all the pictures you want and of your calls too, I love to see them! 💕
Little Diva is such a sweetie! Your daughter is great at naming them!
Thank you so much! The hatch is almost over for the most part. I opened the safety hole on the last remaining egg. That little one was malpositioned in the feet over head position. It was also sideways as maybe it was working hard and trying anything to get into position to hatch. I wonder if it was beginning to give up hope as it's been so quiet and didn't react to any stimuli. I wasn’t sure if it was alive. Whenever I started to get to air cell open, it really started talking and fighting to do something. There was enough space in part of the egg and I was able to see the blood had been absorbed. It was trying to get out of the shell so I placed it back in the incubator. It did seem more wet than the others. So only time will tell.

So it looks like I have 1 Blue Pearl, if I'm not mistaken. I'm going to have trouble telling the Porcelain's apart 😳 This is the first time I've had more than two ducks or chickens that look alike. We named the one that was first to pip internally but then was almost last to hatch, "Hope". Today, I can't tell which one is Hope. Any ideas on being able to identify them other than leg bands, which I don't have.

Isn't it amazing how much time ducks can spend inspecting every single inch and crevice of an empty hand 😂 Lylah is quite the boss lady 👸🏻 and must be first at everything, but Faith is finally beginning to act a little more confident and asserting herself. It's like my very own soap opera. Paisley just stands back but will participate whenever he notices his chance to get in on the action without bothering anyone as he is such a sweetheart. Tallulah (still need to figure out a similar sounding masculine or gender neutral name) isn't as entertained unless I have some duck pellets in my hand, or there is nothing else to do. I'm just going to start calling them both boys I suppose 🤷‍♀️

Does everyone just leave grit out for their Calls? My little flock won't touch it, but they eat most everything they pass by outside.
If they have access to dirt/ground they'll find their own grit.
I put some out from time to time in my call duck palace since my run is full of shavings straw and grass clippings.
