Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

Awesome news on both fronts!! :ya I love Pickle's color.
Nice size egg for a first one too! I usually see eggs increase in size a little after they start laying more consistently .

I apologize for cross posting to those that have seen this, but had to share here too.
Sure is! Thanks! She was one of the ones I took to the fair. I always thought Pickle was blue fawn but the judge told me she looked like blue butterscotch. :pop

Yes, Chip’s egg is almost the same size as Squeegee’s eggs.

Wow! That little duckling sure is lucky to have such a devoted mother caring for it. Looks like you’re doing a great job helping it get better. I’ve never seen anything like that. Do you know what caused that? Does the little one have a name?

Ahhhh! They're so gorgeous! Please help me figure this out....... Is Roxy up top or bottom? Is Lidus up top? Looks like his perfect little self with that bill and chubs 💜 These little buggers hide their drake feathers so well under those wing feather tips. I absolutely love all ducks, but there's just something about a Call 😍😍😍😍😍
Neither of my boys have their drake feathers yet. They're still changing every day though.

I've never really been a duck person. This is my first experience... But my goodness I love them. Their little cheeks and personalities are amazing. 🥰

I'm holding off naming this little one until we see if she is going to survive or not. lol
I'm calling her a "she" because she is so much smaller than the others. Actually, of the 5 surviving siblings, this one and another are much smaller than the other 3. So I'm assuming 3 boys and 2 girls. Say a prayer for her. She has an inexperienced surgeon.

And no, I don't know what caused it. It swelled up very quickly. I suspect she got something in her eye that she didn't get cleared out, and it got infected. It could also be a tumor, cancer, etc. I'm not really sure, but we suspect just a sebaceous cyst.

Wow! This is the first I'm seeing of this so I'm sorry if you've already said all of this before. How old is the baby? What did you end up having to do? Is the initial swelling in front of the eye outside of the eyelid and then the swollen area is starting to cover the eye? I'm so curious about the different treatments, especially with things that are never seen before. I'm sure this Lil one is getting phenomenal care. I'll be keeping her in my prayers 💜

How much younger are the boys than Butter and Roxy? It's so crazy that one day out of the blue, I noticed my boys drake feathers. I have no idea how long they had them before then. I guess I've been more focused on their plumage change and missed the not as obvious drake feathers.
It looks like Puddle has teeny tiny feet like Faith. I love those tiny feet! I believe Faith's feet and bill are about half the size of Lylah's and Lylah's aren't huge.
Did you ever figure out what color Flip is? I LOVE it. They're all so gorgeous.

My last 3 ducklings, the 2 Calls and one Aussie Spot have all started quacking!!! 🥳 Thank you for sharing some of that Quacking Voodoo! I told them so many times that I would be over the moon if they were all 3 girls. The Spot started getting a really nice bright white neck ring and her bill was almost nude so that made me worry, but she's been quacking loud and clear 💜💜💜
I'm still battling with Maggie's angel wing 😭 I ordered a harness for her hoping that would work since she's such a drama queen, but of course that didn't work. She acts like I am trying to put a straight jacket on her. If she's unable to fly, that's not a huge deal. The problem is that wing sticking out and it just seems like it's at significant odds of being injured. I guess if it was an easy fix, there wouldn't be AW at all. They'd all be fixed. Of course things could be worse
