Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

No it’s fine,
Things are hectic around here so I definitely understand. :D
Yep that’s what I was thinking. :fl
Hoping for the best! :ya
For me, I have found it's best to leave broodies alone.
If she is very mellow I mean you can get under there and do safety holes and stuff but usually you do more harm than good bothering them. Sometimes it makes them turn the eggs excessively or even abandon the nest.

Thanks for the advice! She is very mellow and doesn’t mind me putting my entire hand under her and checking the eggs. Even still I’m thinking I’ll leave her alone and let her do her thing. :)

Also, it's good that you have her separated from the flock,
if it's possible give her a dish of water or something she can still get herself wet in once a day.
She has a dish of water. She barley moves though, she is dedicated. Before today I had to lift her off her nest once a day to get a drink and eat some food. I’m thinking she’ll be a great mother. :fl:pop

Look at the babies! :love
They’re sadly moving out to the shed this weekend. They’re becoming quite the messy little fellas. :gig
Chip and Beans will be three weeks old this weekend and Little Splash jr is a couple days later.

Also question,
I’ve haven’t hatched eggs (never calls) via broody in a long time and am a bit rusty. I have her separated from the rest of the flock. She is under the shelf with a little fence around her.

Will I need to give her eggs safety holes? With my incubator calls, none have even attempted to get out on their own so far. Would it hurt to give them safety holes? Is it not needed?
Did you get a safety hole maker tool yet?

Nice try! :tongue
Looks more like a good weapon to use against the weasel trying to defeat the duck army currently! :smack
It killed my guinea right in front of me and I practically had to pry the weasel from its neck!
