They must! Today has been a heck of a day. I’ve never had it last this long. This time they used 3 drops of different things (one was numbing) I’ll be happy to be able to candle the eggs tonight!I bet poor thing. They must use some pretty strong stuff, I had mine dilated back in the summer last year and it worse off pretty quick.
I definitely will and I’ll get the pictures of squeegee and her little clutch!Let us know how they are doing![]()
@shawluvsbirds or @Pyxis or @WVduckchick all hatch Calls. Excited for you!!Just candled! All is well! Tons of movement and they are almost taking up the entire eggs now! Here’s how we’re looking air cell wise. Some are a lot smaller. For some reason the first two eggs 6c and 8c have a lot smaller air cells. Eggs 9s and 1s have a lot larger. Is this because they have thinner shells? The weird part is that the two smaller are from Cami and the larger are from Squeegee. Any comments or suggestions? Today’s day 20 I’m planning on locking down when I see drawdown or on day 23. I will crank the humidity to 65 and take out the turner on day 23.![]()

Thanks so much! Again I’m so glad you’ve been following my journey thus far! I’m really excited as well! I’m ready to snuggle some fluffy call ducklings in just 6 days hopefully! I’ve gotten some great advice from them and highly value their advice! @Isaac 0 , and @Conan too and so many people! Maybe they’ll have an idea about the air cells.
You are right. The eggs are very round. I have one that I actually have a hard time telling the air cell from the top of the egg. Thank god my eyes are back to normal! Yay! We’re gonna need duckling pics when those cuties escape their shells! Your chicks are adorable! Sorry you had two quit. They’re so fluffy!Hey there!
Those air cells do look a little small, but the eggs look pretty round, if I’m seeing correctly (hope your eyes got back to normal!) I’ve found the more rounded eggs seem to keep smaller air cells and tilt less. I can’t say how that affects hatching or hatch rates, I haven’t paid enough attention really. I think they still have time to be ok though.
I had one pip last night when I went to bed, and awoke to 2 more this morning, so I’ll have some ducklings soon! Yay!!
2 of my 4 chicken chicks hatched yesterday. Don’t know why the other 2 quit after lockdown.
