Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

Pics
First one zipped all the way around, but didn’t break the cap off, so I helped.

Oh my! What an adorable sweetie! I’m in love!
It it a grey? Or some type of grey mix? ❤️ :love:love:pop:pop
She is looking grey, but the grey hen that I robbed a few eggs from hangs out with a blue fawn, and a blue bibbed, so we’ll see when she dries out. Lol

That’s so fun! She sure is a cutie! I have a blue fawn and blue fawn pied drake so I’m not sure what color these ducklings will be. :D :pop
I’ll be suprised!

it could help to do it now for a few days, but I’d stop for the final 2-3 days.
Ok I’ll try that thanks! Just candled everyone and the air cells are perfect on the other two. These two have gotten a bit bigger but are still very small.
Funny enough the egg that is 1 day behind looks ahead of the other 3. It looks like drawdown will be in a couple days.

Here’s what I’d do for those 2 slower eggs. Up to you though.
I’d take a sponge, just damp, not too wet, and wipe the whole shell. That will remove the bloom and allow more moisture to escape from inside the egg. Then mist once a day. This late, it’s hard to catch up, but because of being this late, it should be safe to remove the bloom. If you feel they are definitely too small.

Ok thanks for the great advice. I’m thinking I’ll try that if I don’t notice the air cells to be getting bigger. I’ll see how they’re looking tonight or in the morning. Then go through with wiping the bloom. :)
