Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

She is like a very light creamy brown, so she could be a Chocolate pied (hey, chocolate pie, yummy!)
Haha! I wish you had a definite blue one, because its much easier to tell when they are side by side.

So adorable!!! My goodness they're absolutely precious!

Looking at this picture, maybe she's a Blucolate 😂 (I'm kidding) or a Choclue or Chule :lau

I've got some duck eggs incubating and they have 6 days left out of a 28 day incubation period. The countdown will switch to 5 days late this evening. If I'm unsure if they're going to hatch on day 26 or 28, do yall think it'll be OK to stop the turner tonight? They're Aztec's and I can't find information other than some may take the hatching time line of calls or go for 28 days. I want to give them time to get into position as best they can, but I don't want to cause any issues.

Edited to add: Yall know how nervous I am with hatching and I'm just unsure about what to do. I feel like stopping the turner tonight or tomorrow will be perfectly fine. I just need to check them often.

Edited again: I'm going to put them into lock down tonight 😀

It's a good thing I stopped the turner. They're shadowing. Hopefully I haven't messed them up so much and they'll be able to hatch. I feel like I'm bad at incubating and hatching eggs.

I was going to say to watch for them to start shadowing, or getting close, so you did great!
Turning is most important in the early and mid stages. Once the CAM is full throughout the egg, turning is less important. I watch for the area close to the air cell membrane to be almost all dark. The more fluid I see close to the membrane, the longer I wait. Once they are all full dark, or very close to it, that's when I bump up the humidity. ** Disclaimer - unless the air cells are too small, then I wait until they start drawing down.

Thank you so much for this! They have really drawn down a lot! I've made safety holes for two that have internally pipped and I'm unsure about two others that I can't decide if they're still shadowing or have internally pipped. I've got to work today so I won't be able to watch them as close as I'd like. That's why I'm worried about making safety holes. I've got the humidity bumped up to 60%.
