Help guys? Little Mustard is gasping for air and making a loud squeaking noise. She was not doing this when I left earlier. I’m terrified because that’s what Cami did before passing away. It’s really bad. I tried massaging her throat, giving respiratory balm and vet rx. I don’t know what to do. I’ll upload a video

I also tried putting her in the pool to get a drink but it didn’t help.

@FunnyfarmMidwest I hope Mustard is ok. It's like she has something stuck in her throat.
@HeatherKellyB I do have one Silver/Gray Magpie in that pen. My Black and White Magpies are in a separate pen.
I took a picture of my husband holding this one today. So cute! It's like he's wearing a little coat! His head, breast, and belly are yellow/white. It looks black in the picture but it's actually gray.

Holy moly! That's one more adorable duckling! There's no way that gorgeous little one would be going anywhere!!! I'd love to see these babies feather in. How long do you keep them? An ancona looks to be wearing a tux, right? Do you have any of those? I hope you'll make an album or thread with your flock one day because I'd love to see your beauties.

It may not be the same thing and I didn't mention it earlier because of that but, here goes. Stormy, my Cayuga drake, will sometimes do something very similar to what Mustard was doing. I've pinpointed the cause to feed. I believe he chokes on his feed by scarfing it down way too fast, even though he has food available to him at all times throughout the day. I had to change their feed from Flock Raiser Crumbles whenever they were about 6 months old because it was starting to happen too often. I know you feed Purina Duck Pellets, but is there a chance she choked on some of the powdery remnants or a smaller pellet? Stormy usually does this for about an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less. This may be completely different from what was going on with Mustard, but I wanted to offer a little bit of hope.

Thanks so much for the help. I do suppose it’s possible but I didn’t think about it. Yes I do feed Purina duck pellets. I fed them about 9 am and she didn’t start doing this till around 7 pm. She could have easily eaten something outside since they were free ranging. I think she definitely did have something caught in her throat because she seemed to improve soon after eating some food that I offered. Hopefully that’s what it was and she’ll keep doing good.
