Preppers were right! No toilet paper in the stores due to Coronavirus scare.

Ok, weird question from a westerner... When you wash, do you also dry? If so, with what? I can't imagine everyone dries with the same towel, if disposable then it goes in the trash can if not flushed.

I wouldn't want to not dry and have to deal with being soggy all day....

Just get a stack of washrags, or similar, to dry your bum. Then throw into the washer, rinse and repeat.

Update: Although WalMart and Menards have been out of TP for a week, our local Dollar Tree had their shelves full of TP today (limit 4 packs). They also got a box(es) of hand sanitizer (limit 4 bottles). So I picked up some TP and hand sanitizer for Dear Wife who is in panic mode.

Normally she would not consider TP from the Dollar Tree - she only gets "Angel Soft" for her behind. Anyway, I showed her the TP from the Dollar Tree and asked her if that was OK. She was so happy that I think I could have come home with sand paper quality TP and she would have still been happy.

I think we have enough TP and hand sanitizer to last over a month, and we will probably stock up a bit more as the stores refill their shelves. At least, for now, the panic is over for those items. I can guarantee you that when things get back to "normal", Dear Wife will not be arguing with me when I want to buy TP and stock up when on they go on sale.

But, speaking of getting back to "normal," the news tonight from our elected officials are now saying this Coronavirus situation may extend into July or August, and that we have yet to see the worse of it. That was not good news. Nor has been the drop in the stock market wiping out a large percentage of our retirement funds. Here in Minnesota, all schools will be closed on Wednesday for the rest of the month, and maybe longer depending on the course of events at that time. Bars and sit down restaurants are to be closed starting tomorrow. Gatherings of more than 10 people are to be avoided. Lots of people don't know if they will be going into work the next day. So it is really a new challenge for many people.

Best wishes to all the BYC forum members and hope we all get through this crisis in good health.

One of these days people are going to figure out that an add-on bidet is an unlimited supply of TP for as little as $25-30. Just get some distinct looking washrags (so you don't use them to wash with) to dry your bum and you'll be clean as a whistle.

I have been considering getting one before the tp shortages, but was thinking if I attach one to our toilet the kids would be playing with it more than anything lol.

All of our public schools closed yesterday for 2 weeks minimum. So far no real changes other than that. They did cancel public gatherings, but have not bothered restaurants or anything yet. My husband is a teacher and is home for 2 weeks, I'm hoping they get around to sending people home from work so I can be home with him some. I work for a big company and we likely have over 100 people per shift so not sure how they are getting around the "no gathering over 100 people" requirement unless they decided that as long as people were more than 6 feet apart that they aren't "gathered" so we may have 5 pockets of 20 or so but no group larger than 100.

We are a Japanese owned company and they have stopped any international travel for business reasons, other than the 2 Japanese employees that are due to go back ( one is going back after the 27th and the other in April sometime), they have no problem with sending them back to the city that has the greatest infection rate in Japan as long as they aren't coming back to the US and bringing it back with them....

Some of the logic just doesn't work...

I guess I can understand people wanting to return to their home country in times of crisis. I bet we have Americans flying home from Italy last week. Many years ago, I was stationed in Italy for a tour of duty and know that there are many Americans living over there. I know I would have sent my family back to the USA in times like these even if I had to remain in Italy for my duty. Just hope we have appropriate precautions in place for returning Americans so any possible infection is ruled out before they go back to their home communities. Sounds like we are way behind on the testing kits and need to get that fixed.

Anyway, I think logic was the first causality in this Coronavirus scare.

The sad thing is, I don't know about Yuta (the one going back at the end of the month) but Kaycee doesn't want to go back right now. She knows that the chances of her getting sick here are much lower than if she goes home, but they are not being given the choice to stay a bit longer due to the pandemic.
