Pressure Treated Wood or Not?

I used treated on all wood that had contact to the ground. With the humidity & termites, you really don't have a choice unless you want to be rebuilding every couple of years. Use what you feel comfortable with.

I have to admit that I use ground treated lumber, the lumber with the impressions on the side to let the treatment soak in more deeply. I have not had any issues with it, the chickens don't really come in much contact with it and I use brackets so it doesn't even contact the ground. it may sound kind of hypocritical, being a generally pro organic kind of guy, but I build to last a long time.

Wood pressure treated with arsenic has not been available to the ordinary home user since 2003/2004. The only difference between ground contact and non ground contact pressure treated wood is the amount of treatment chemical absorbed into the wood. http://www.popularmechanics.com/hom...orking-with-pressure-treated-lumber-15655848/

I used ground contact pressure treated lumber for as much of my coop and run as possible, but every bit of the coop and run is pressure treated.
