Pretty sure my house is haunted

What a beautifully cute house. It looks like a gingerbread house. I love a old house with a history. I am originally from St. Francisville, Louisiana. You might have heard of "The Myrtles Plantation". It is known for being the most haunted house in America. I love stories like yours. As long as you and your daughter are safe, I would find out everything about your house, if you already haven't.

I don't believe in that stuff myself, but even if I did no spook would run me out of that house. IT is really awesome. Nice piece of archetecture.

I read this before I went back to bed after getting up at 4am to shovel snow.

I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I really believe that haunted houses are possible. I also think that your daughter really can see them, but she will grow out of that soon, and probably won't remember unless you keep reminding her.

I'm not sure I believe the explanation about the boys running up and down the stairs though, because unless they died there as little boys, their spirits would be grown up and would be where ever their lives took them.

The phsyic could have done the same research that you did too. I haven't decided how I feel about phsyic's yet.

What I wonder about is, what is keeping them there and why haven't they moved on.

My grandparents died in the home I grew up in. It was a violent death and things wheren't quite right in their lives, we heard my grandpa yell at my aunt (she was mental retarded and lived with them until she came to live with us a few months before they died) Heard foot steps, seen shadows of a woman walk across the window etc.

All very strange.

I grew up in a haunted house, it was never a "happy" place, anyone who has a speck of awareness knows what I mean...

It was made of driftwood from shipwrecks and 2 of my own family members died in it and the original owner's wife/mother died in it too...

I think your house is very cool...

There are different types of hauntings also: People, Places, and something that's like a time loop where you see things happening like you're watching a movie.

Kerr, I assume the first pic is the front of the house? Where is the front door? Do you have two, one on each side of the large middle first floor window, each entering the front hallway? Maybe one directly into the parlor?

When we were house hunting we ran into a few old places like that. Evidently the coffins were brought in through only one door directly into the parlor. Alive folks used the other door.

We lived for a very short time in a haunted house out in Chicago Park. The water at the kitchen sink would go on and off, pages in a telephone book on the table would flip slowly through when no windows were open and no draft going through and the tv would turn on and flip through channels. This is the house where my husband and I split up, so I was really happy to get out of there.

Your house is truly stunning. And the history is fascinating. I would be concerned though that the woman also was able to dig up the same history as you found out. Would it be possible to get a "second opinion"? Maybe make an appointment at a neutral place and then bring them to your home and see if they have the same info? Just a thought.

Totally fascinating. You are a much braver woman than me.

Ya I woke up one morning recently to the sound of ghosts howling...But it turned out my hens were laying eggs, and my dryer machine was breaking down... Gee I'm prbably not as exciting as many of you!
