prices for 6 wk old chicks

You may wish to keep a silkie hen, I hear they go broody at the drop of a hat, which could be a blessing if you wish to incubate au-natural.
I do plan on keeping a silky hen not just because they go broody but they are adorable lol along with 1 seabright because they are beautiful :)

I don't sell many but six week olds are 30 dollars for female 10 for male.
Iv'e gotten them past the point of creative suicide and fed and familiarised them with people and other chickens.
If it isn't worth that to a buyer they are welcome to move on.:)
I gotta ask.. creative suicide? Lol im lost?

And i fully understood what the person was saying about some sickos cruising CL and the like for free/cheap animals to abuse for one reason or another. I read it the way it was meant, didnt take any offense to it and fully understood and agree with it.

That being said, i still dont know what to ask as some i dont know their sexes lol. Some were straight runs and some were pullets but even pullets they say is 90% accurate. What ages can I sex them? Wish they would just tell me lol

So ive officially had most of my chicks for 6 weeks today. I went back after i realized about half of the chicks i picked werent good egg layers lol. So i plan on letting some go.

Whats a fair price to ask for them? I will be letting 2 old English's, 1 seabright, 3 silkies and maybe a few wyandottes or who knows lol but Right now i have 21 chicks and need to get it down to 12 which is our limit here. And one of the 4 silkies is getting a big thingy on its head where as the other 3 don't have one that big- safe to assume rooster?

Btw i wasnt sure where to post this question, I hope i chose wisely :)
Why did you get 21 chicks when you knew you could only have 12?

To allow for losses, missexes, choice of birds based on personality/appearance, meet minimum for orders etc.......pretty common practice.....‍♀️ selling the extras at coop ready or even point of lay stage pays for my entire chick purchase plus each year

I have about half my bielefelders sold straight out of the incubator at $30 per female, $20 per male, and $40 per breeding pair (counting chicks before they hatch, but whatevs - I have a waiting list going).

I wonder how much I could reasonably charge people for a six week-old rare bird like that though. $50 per female, $20 per male, and $100 per breeding pair?

I have no clue with prices which is why i started this thread. But hey, like someone else said, start high you can always lower your prices. I know me personally, i WOULD pay those prices if you had what i wanted. You're talking to a woman who paid big bucks for a special kind of hermit crab to have shipped in from Florida and dart frogs from Canada hahaha
