Printing 'chicken'

The last retreat I worked, I shrunk the artwork to four per page, then took it to my local Kinkos/Fed Ex to have 200 copies made, enough to hand out to everyone. Went back the next morning to pick 'em up with barely enough time to hit the road, and there were three people in the only line in front of me. The gentleman in front of me, turned around and had a huge grin on his face. Me, not so happy because he was holding a huge stack of papers he needed copied. Then he shared that he was getting out of the Navy, started when he was just out of High School, and was going to buy a house, settle down near his Grandchildren. We talked for quite a while, and the guy in front of him stepped back to let HIM go before him. No way was I going to complain. A Hero. When he slid all his papers forward on the counter, he had the count ready. The manager wrote down all the appropriate information, and as he took out his wallet, the manager shook his head and said the only payment they would accept from him was a handshake.

Another worker helped the second guy, and my perspective changed. I didn't mind waiting. Sometimes in doing so, we spot the best of treasures.

Great, absolutely great

As for the second story: that's pretty sweet. I like it

Telemarketers also seem to know English as a second or maybe fifth language, one can never tell what they are trying to offer, even if one keeps them on the line long enough to attempt to find out !
