Privett Hatchery.... *pics added*

We've always had great success with our Privett feed store finds. Black Stars last year, awesome hens. 4 cutie bantams a few days ago, no illnesses or deaths (knock on wood).
We've bought EE's, barred rocks, RIRs from them in years past, all great......

Yep, it started that soon after I ordered mine which was about 4 mos ago so that's about right. Maybe you can try to call them and see if they have a catalog or something or tell them to fix their site.

Good to see good results with Privett. I too felt the CS was a little rough.... nice but very short, not very people friendly like other hatcheries.

So I'm not alone in the sex-link saga! Thats cool, I don't see why they wouldn't work? I'm going to test the amount of eggs they lay compared to a commercial sex link.

Go to welps online catalog.... it's the same as privetts as it is privetts. However order from privett instead as they are cheaper.

All of my birds will be seperated from my other flocks for four months and then tested for MG as I'm not wanting to go through that whole ordeal again. As most know a lot of retail hatcheries are not MG clean. Ideal being the one that seems to have the most issues with it.

Keep me updated on the progress of your RIW project!

Yes, your NHR roo X RIW hens cross should produce sexlinks and I would imagine they will be exellent layers.

With mine, I'm hoping to produce a buff and white bird, instead of a redish/gold and white. I crossed a Buff Orp roo with a white broiler breeder hen and hatched one hen that was so beautiful, buff head, buff lacing in the breast, and white towards the back half of her. However the Cornish Rock broiler birds are dominant white so the hen's wasn't sexlinked. I crossed the same hen with a RIR roo and got the normal all white chicks with black dots, that is normally produced from a dominant white cross. For sexlinks, the white hen has to be recessive white and the RIWs are. I will start hatching some or this cross this spring, as well as a
BO roo X SLW hen which will also produce some sort of sexlink. I will post pics of the chicks when they hatch.

I ordered 25 pullets from Welp in June, and they from Privett (drop ship). All 25 were thriving, and they all look great and healthy still. 2 turned out to be roos, so their sexing was within the 90% accuracy rate promised. Our EEs (8 of the order)came in a variety of colors, including a blue wheaton.

All of the Feed stores in our area that I shop at get their chicks there. They have for a long time, which says a lot as to how satisfied they are with privett. Enjoy your chicks!

Well.... chicks arrived this morning as planned. They did actually ship from NM so they were not drop shipped.

Everything was perfect... boxes in great shape... They labled all the breeds and even marked the males for me.

I lost two chicks.... DOA. The rest were pretty chilly but they seem to be warming up in their new brooder. I'm sure I will lose a couple weak ones but overall they are extremely healthy.

I give Privett an A+ (this is my first time ordering from a southern/western hatchery. I have stayed local for the last 10 years and seemed to venture a bit when everyone else was sold out for the year.

Customer service was very straight foward get to the point (nice but you feel rushed almost).

SO all in all a pleasant experience.... pictures to come as soon as I'm done taking care of everyone.

Thanks for all the replies!

Here are some pics of the E.Eggers, Rhode Island Whites, and New Hampshire Reds....

Baby chicks!

Our feed store has the Privett chicks available now, and the red stars and EE's are two of the choices offered, both pullets only, so that's cool.

They are good quality chicks, I would say go for it.

Out of 100 EE ordered I had one DOA and the rest are now snuggled in just fine. Everyone is eating and drinking fine... and they are plenty warm enough.

I'm not sure if they gave me extras or not as I didn't count them.... just started a few with the water and tossed the rest in!
