Probably wrong, but thinking out loud about the TSC “BRs”

I am just thinking out loud. I know I, and many others are curious about what is happening.

I‘m sure we are all very familiar with the TSC BRs that Hoover’s has been pumping out.

Well while doing my daily Cackle surfing dreaming about all the birds I will never be able to afford I found these, Kosher King.

I’ve personally never heard of them. But they reminded me of the TSC “Barred Rocks”.

Cackle didn’t have any images of the pullets.

So, I went to the web (which I know can’t be trusted. Just look at all the misinformation on Ameraucanas. Main reason I decided to make this thread.) and found pictures of the pullets. They look almost identicle.

Now I know Hoover’s has two lines of BRs, thanks to @TheAlrightyGina.

Anyone think these could be related? I know Kosher King are meat birds.

Also, does that website I linked have correct pictures of the pullets?
I don’t know if you heard my theory already or not, but my thoughts are that they’re a reverse black sex link- barred rock rooster x RIR hen (producing all barred chicks with leakage). Amber links are a reverse red sex link, so it makes sense that hatcheries would breed a reverse BSL. It’s weird that they’re not listed on the hatchery websites, though.

Oh that’s a good theory. I just wonder why they would list them as BRs. But I suppose that’s my question with most theories.

My contact told me they haven't heard back from the flock manager. Apparently they're ramping up for the busy season right now so things are hectic. Makes sense, what with the USPS kerfuffle. I'll keep responding periodically so they don't forget about it. Hopefully we'll get an answer sooner rather than later.

Look what I just found on Hoovers website. Don't these look very similar to the weird BRs?

You might be onto something. A Google search of the Grünleger brings up several birds that look quite similar to the ones in question. Grünleger just means 'greenlayer' though, so it's about as easy to pin down as Easter Eggers here.

The fact that they are labeled "new" makes me wonder if they just accidently had a different breed bird (I was thinking maybe EE, that's why they labeled it as a EE, but their colors are too unpredictable I think) snuck into the BR pen, and they decided to just label it as a new breed. I wonder what color eggs the weird BRs lay...

Wait! The description of them says "Overall, the Easter Eggers typically lay colored eggs, but up to 15% of the time you will have one that lays brown or cream eggs."
It also says they can sometimes have crests.

Most of the ones people have been getting have been pullets, so someone probably has some eggs. I'm pretty sure someone would have said something if they were laying green/blue eggs though.
