Please help! I am on my second hatching of all blue eggs from my own chickens and having the hardest time candling them! I've searched for advice on this site but nothing seems to work very well. I would be willing to purchase a device if it works because now I am hooked on hatching!!
Thank you for any help you can give...

What are you currently using for candling? Where are you doing the candling?
For darker shelled eggs, it is even more important to work in the best environment for the purpose (meaning a dark room - I like to use my windowless bathroom as it is entirely pitch black with the light off and door closed). I have not had any issues with my colored eggs using a good, LED flashlight. While you may not be getting as clear of a view as you might with nice, lighter shells, you can at least get the gist of things and see the key components you are looking for to mark progress.

I have been doing it in a dark room with a led flashlight but there is so much glare around the egg it is hard to see.
I just ordered this

You really cannot see much inside blue or green eggs, especially if the momma hens are healthy and make nice thick-shelled eggs.

I know, my 2 EE girls' eggs are nearly impossible to candle. I consider myself lucky I can kinda figure out where the air cells are.

Even so, they've had 100% hatch rates, despite me having to guess if anything is actually happening in there. It may help to get a brighter/better candler, but be prepared to still not be able to see a whole lot. It's just one of those things, having to do with the substances that cause a hen to lay an egg with a blue shell.

That makes sense--my blue eggs are harder to crack than the others...yesterday the hens knocked a whole basket of eggs I had just gotten over and even though the blue ones hit the ground on the steps not one broke! Four of my brown ones did and so e of them landed on the bare ground! Thank you for the info--I will try the new device I bought and post the results on here.

Just candled my 33 egg and had marked them per egg carton with a variety if dots and circle so I could tell which eggs were from what date. 11/33 did not develop. These are from a carton that was on the kitchen counter that had soaked up spilt Crystal Light. Very interesting... Well we still have 22 that look very lively thanks to my new candling light!
